Krissie: busy

I sort of feel like I pissed my day away yesterday, but then, I’m allowed to piss my days away. I did errands, picked up sandwiches from the bakery (I was in search of a morning glory muffin but fortunately they didn’t have any (Must Make Diet Version). And then I decided to sew. Still can’t find the quilt top I want to quilt (a Christmas teapot quilt I was making for my mother). But I did make these two iPod holders. Need to add straps and a flap, but I had fun. But for now, I’m going to church. A little more decorating, a little more decluttering, maybe some wrapping. Oh, and those morning glory muffins. Maybe I’ll see if I can finish the dining room and head for the kitchen. And finish the ipod pouches.
All these things and I’m having fun doing it.
But in the meantime, it’s the second Sunday in Advent, and off I go.

Doing things that make you happy is the best mental health solution. Did a little sewing this week too, satisfied the creative gene. Going to make a little blanket and pillow for the grand-daughter’s first baby doll from Grammy Santa. Now if Grampy would make the little cradle, I could make a little mattress and sheet. I saw the cutest little hand stitched mattresses for a Princess and the Pea doll and bed. I could make one of those.

  2. You look terrific and more relaxed. You sound like you are enjoying yourself. You are totally allowed to piss the day away if you like! Enjoy your creative and decorative pursuits and have a good Sunday! Everyone, hope you enjoy your day!

  3. You look so lovely! And I’m probably the biggest fan in the world of little sewing projects that bring immediate gratification. Those iPod cases just have the cutest Christmas fabric!

Every so often I rebel against my over-busy days writing on deadline and teaching an online class or two and tell myself that days aren’t meant to be some big to-do list. Sometimes I just need to relax and do something fun. Glad that’s what you’re doing.

I prefer to consider it “puttering the day away” when small things get done. The day wasn’t a total waste!

Good on ya for taking time for fun projects.

  6. You look gorgeous 🙂 You were pretty busy, it didn’t sound like you pissed a day away at all. And you had fun … it’s very important to have fun!
    Love the i-pod holders.

(-: I love those! I need to make a computer bag over winter break, and am trying to gather ideas for making a good one. I hope I get some time to do some sewing . . . .

  8. I was sick the better part of last week and just got caught up today. Sounds like you’ve had quite the week. Glad to hear you are starting to come out on the other side.

Any day you make something as cute as those is not a day you pissed away. It’s a shame you aren’t into selling stuff. I reckon there’s a market for those.

The room’s looking good behind you too, all artistic. Very nice!
